DUMMY COPS AND MOTORISTS
"I'd like to ask if the Council could be held responsible in the event of a motorist striking one of those duipmy policemen in the Strand a>nd having an accident" asked Cr Canning of the Mayor at the meeting of the Borough Council last Monday evening. "I 'don't think we have, anything to Avorry about," rejoined His Worship—"if a motorist hit one ol' those things his driving would he so negligent that he; would have no claim against the Council."
