GIRL GUIDE NEWS
FORMATION OF AWAKERI GROUP The district of Awakcri is moving forward and it is gratifying to note that this community which established its .scout troop two years ago has now taken steps to form a Girl Guide Company and a Brownie Pack. This has been no doubt stimulated by the j'act that Mrs J. Rushbrook lias been recently appointed District Guide Commissioner in succession to Mrs B. S. Barry. From reports there appears to be every indication that guiding will be moving steadily forward in the district in the near future. Already tentative enquiries have been made regarding the formation of Guide Companies at Edgecumbe Taneatua and Te Teko. The Awakeri meeting on July 5 advertised in today's issue for- 3.15 p.m. on Thursday next will enable parents and others interested to hear the district commissioner outline the aims and objectives of this worldwide movement in general.
