EDGECUMBE DRUIDS

HALF YEARLY MEETING The half-yearly meeting and installation of officers of the Edgeeumbe Druids' Lodge took place in Bell's Hall Edgccumbe on Thursday 7th instant. Arch, Druid Bro. K. G. Melville presided over a large number of members. - Apologies were received from several members including Bro. C< B. O'Brien, Outside Guardian elect also from the secretaries of the Te Puke and Rotorua Lodges. Past District President Sister AY.. 11. Harris, of Te Puke Lodge who was spending a holiday in Whakatane was present and was welcomed by the Arch Druid. On the completion of the ordinary business of the evening District President Bro. .T. J. H. Gattsolie (in charge of No. 24. District) was admitted and welcomed according to Druidic custom due to his exalted office. Past District President Bro. H. MCartcr then presented the following members, to the District President for installation:—Junior Past Arch Druid Bro, K. G. Melville; Arch Druid Bro. H. W. Neal; Vice Arch Druid Bro, R. Ilovland; Secretary P.D.P. Bro. J. Mullins; Treasurer P.A. Bro. G. J. Hunter; inside Guardian Sister J. J. H. Gattsche; A.D„ Bards Bro. and Sister D. L. Mickeil: V.A. Bards P.D.P. Bro. W. B. S, Lindsay and P.A, Bro. "W. Hoylnnd; Organist I>.A.1 > .A. Bro. \V. J. 11. Thompsou; P.A. Bro. 11. P. Sanders then presented P.D.P. Bro. 11. M. Carter to the District President for installation as Master of Ceremonies. Districts President Bro. Gattsche was congratulated by several of -the senior members in regard to the most impressive manner in which he carried out the Installation Ceremony and it. was freely expressed that No. 21 District and Edgccumbe Lodge in particular was ?mlced fortunate in having such a capable officer to guide the destines of Druidism. After the Lodge was closed a dainty supper was served by the sisters of ! the Lodge; and a very successful and pleasant evening was brought to a close.
