EDGECUMBE'S EFFORT
Sir—On behalf of the Etlgecumbe Patriotic Committee I express my appreciation and thanks to all who assisted us in our annual Patriotic effort. Special mention must be made of the following:— The Grandmothers who contested the Derby and their committees. The results of their effort 133 ; 647 votes equalling £1070 lis lid must be a record for any district such as ours. All who assisted at the race meeting, particularly those residing outside the Edgecumbe including owners and riders of horses. The Te Teko Domain Board who allowed us the use. of the Domain for the day. I would also take this opportunity of conveying my personal thanks.
