Adult Education A generous- gesture towards those mothers who wish to attend the Adult Education classes at Awakeri has been made -by the staff of the school which has offered, for Thursday, the day set aside for Awakeri to mind at school all children of pre-school age whose mothers wish to attend the lectures. Strucy by Pellet An unfortunate accident occurred on Wednesday when (> year old son of Mr J. Hignett ol' Hawera Street was hit in the eye with a pellet from a Bee Bee gun. The injured boy was. removed to the Whakatane Hospital, where it lias now been ascertained that the .sight of his eye will not be lost St. John Ambulance It is pleasing to note at every football match and sporting fixture the presence of one or more members of the St. John Ambulance Brigade. Without doubt, if it were not for this body, many accidents especially those happening on football fields would be left unattended and injured players would have no means by which they could reccive attention on the spot. The Brigade is an netirely voluntary body, and its members are to be conrgatulatcd on the elficicnt manner in which they carry out their duties. Rehabilitation Allowances From March 1943, till April 21 last £395,890 were made in Rehabilitation allowances to servicemen and women from the time of their (dis-< charge from the armed, forces till their absorption in civil occupations, states the monthly report of the Rehabilitation Department just issued.
