WHY NOT WHAKATANE ?
THE Tauranga Womens' Educational Committee has once again arranged a Winter School which will place from 4th to Bth (J June. A big variety of subjects is covered and all of them are of practical interest to both men and women. The first lecture commences in the morning at 9.30 a.m. and runs till 10.30. The second goes from 11.30 till 12.30 while the evening ones have been specially arranged for both men and women to attend. In the majority of cases the afternoons have been left open for practical work. Fees are low. 5/- will ensure full registration, or if the pay-as-you-go system is preferred, 1/- per lecture is the charge. Morning and afternoon tea is also made available for a nominal sum. In Tauranga, accommodation for those who wish to attend the lectures is also arranged. People everywhere are. now becoming interested in adult education and the school affords an opportunity unequalled. Why doe not Whakatane follow suit, and form a committee with this object in view ? Once the ball was set rolling, there can be no doubt that men and women of this town would take just as lively an interest in the proceedings as those in other towns visited by the school.
