Mr J. W. who has spent many years as a missionary in. Palestine and the Middle East is at pre-: sent visiting Whakatane. Whilst in the Middle East ? Mr Clapham lias had a unique opportunity of studying the local conditions obtaining in these countries and also of making himself converr sant with the wonderful archaeological discoveries being made in these ancient and historic lands. A free address illustrated by slides of Pctra, Egypt, Syria and. Babylonia is being given in thei Regent Theatre by Mr Clapham oft Sunday evening after the Church Services and the public is cordially invited to be present. The slides in question are beautifully hand-col-oured ones and have been seen by some very large audiences in the various centres throughout the Dominion.
