The series of three contests were very closely fought out Taneatua winning two out of three the result being in doubt until the last bowl was played, thus depriving the club of the Shield. However our first year players retained the Feathers, playing very good bowls indeed. These inter-club games might well be fostered and increased, more especially as travelling conditions are now likely to be less troublesome. ''Our Second Open Easter Tournament was favoured with the main essential perfect weather conditions. Play from start to finish was uninterrupted. Thirty two teams competed, being the maximum number the club can cater for. Play was of a fairly high standard generally and congratulations must lie extended to the both teams being Whakatane..
