AWAKERI DANCE
ANOTHER POPULAR EVENING Another pouular dance run under the auspices of the Farewell, Welcome Home and Prisoners of War Committee was held on Tuesday evening, dancers from all parts of the district turning out to support the fund. The Premier Dance Band played the usual good music l'or old time and modern and the public showed their appreciation at the conclusion of each dance. After an excellent supper, which was very nicely served } had been thoronghly enjoyed, Mr Reg Thompson played an extra chain waltz. Mr Col McDonald, who made a capable M.C. announced that, starting from June ID, six heats would be run for a Monte Carlo prize, valued at £(5. The novelty dance for the evening was won by Miss l Phil. Carter and Mr Hob Byrne. A prize for a competition valued at 10/- was. donated by Mr G. Backl, and won by Miss Hodge. Dancing continued till a late hour ; all who attended agreeing that it was one of Awakcri's best.
