MARK OF APPRECIATION
DONATIONS TO BAND FUNDS
As a mark of appreciation for the splendid manner in which the Boys' Band gave of their services at the recent Thanksgiving Service at Taneatua, local residents of that district have contributed to a subscription list in aid of the Band funds. Mr W. Jarrett the Bandmaster •5 5 who lias put so much in his time and energy into the training of the lads received recently the following letter from the people of Taneatua: "As a mark of appreciation to yourself and the members of the Boy&' Band for their very willing and able assistance at the recent Thanks- ? giving Service at Taneatua, a number of local residents have contributed to a subscription list in aid of the Band funds and we have much J pleasure in now forwarding to you the enclosed cheque for £15 12s. "The attendance of your Band contributed ver3 r materially to the sue- j cess of the service and the excelI '* llence of their playing was widely commented upon. "We trust that the Band wi'll continue to prosper and enjoy all possible success and encouragement." People of Waimana where the Band helped in the conducting of the service after it had played at Taneatua, were also well to the fore in showing their appreciation which they did in the same vein as Taneatua. They presented Mr Jarrett with a generous contribution to the Band funds.
