A bring and buy stall, which proved most profitable Avas he Id, "while numerous r.oveity games were ' enjoyed by all. A beautifully iced fruit cake was won by little Ann Mottram, and a lovely big toy elephant by Mrs Taylor. A box of chocolates also Avent to Mrs Taylor. The school children enjoyed the treasure hunts and afternoon tea, -Beverley Henderson, Lionel Eagle and Tuna Hei Hei "being the lucky ones to find hidden treasures. Another tribute to the virtues of the weed! Mr Robert Lynd ( a wellknown English recently wrote: "It seems to me that pipes, cigarettes and cigars: produce in life something of the elfect. that full stops colons, semi-colons and commas produce in prose. Ihev break things up and so relieve the monotony for the weaker brethren." But the beneficial effects produced by tobacco are not con lined to the "weaker brethren." "The magic herb" appeals to all. gentle and simple brain workers and manual toilers the cultured anil the uncultured.' It helps immeasurably not only to dispel the "monotony of life" but to cheer and comfort the despondent, the all'lictcd and the lonely. The one thing needful is to see that it is pure, and perhaps the purest tobacco procurable anywhere is the New Zealand. It's toasted, and therefore harmless. And how good ft j s ,i—the sweetest, most fragrant, soothing and delightful! There are six brands, and the}' are equally popular: Navy (kit No. 3, Riverhead C.oUl, Desert Gold, Pocket Edition Cavendish and Cut Plug No. 10.
