EDUCATION FOR YOUNG & OLD
The forthcoming Scout Rally to be staged in Whakatane on Majjjf stl* and 6th promises to be one of the most ambitious- ever tackled ifi the Bay of Plenty. The committee, has . gone out of its way' to make thewhole programme as attractive as possible and in ,this connection has introduced competitions in piopeering wall-scaling and other novelties: which have wide -public appeal;: From reports to hand there is. every prospect of 350 boys taking part (including local and the procession down the Strand should be an inspiring sight. On Saturday evening a special campfire programme in the Domain will conclude at 9 p.m. witli a bun and ' hot cocoa for all. The greatest difficulty at the pre-? sent time is to billet something like 170 visiting Scouts and Cubs. Resi.denls who can assist in this connection are*onee again asked to make a point of contacting either the Scout Commissioner 'Phone 10 ot.r 366 or the Billeting Scoutmaster Te Hira 'Phone 106. '
