AMONG FARMERS

VIEWS OF CONFERENCE;

The view that co-operative enterprise among its members should be encouraged and promoted was expressed at the conference of the Bay of Plenty Sub-Provincial Executive of the New Zealand Farmers' Union in Tauranga. The conference was discussing the rules and set-up of the organisation of Federated Farmers, of New Zealand Incorporated. An observation on the lines mentioned above was .made in a suggested amendment to the aims and objects and was- carried along with the rule, which rea'ls that the objects and powers of the federation are to tp foster and to advance the interests of all farmers and of farming generally, and to do all things necessary for, or incidental or ancillary to the protection fostering or advancement of the in r terests of such farmers and farming ? and to have all the powers necessary for or incidental or ancillary to the achievement of such objects. The amendment was moved by Mr X C. A. Moore (Athenree) and seconded by Mr H. C. McCready (Taneatua).
