When Ihe doctor looked in to replenish his capacious pouch he remarked in that hall-humorous way of his: "My colleagues are always— and ol' course most properly—stress- j ing the importance of pure food and! pure water, but do you know, 11 think pure tobacco is almost as important as pure anything else." "That's right, sir/' agreed the tobacconist, "but of course we can't guarantee the purity of all the brands we have to stock." "Quite so," .smiled the doctor, "so let's have my usuaJ two ounces of Riverhead Gold. 1 know that's pure; been smoking" all the genuine toasted brands it's as guiltless, of nicotine— therefore as harmless—as it can be. 'Toasted' certainly has a delightful bouquet." "I know," said tlie tobacconist "I'm selling a lot of all six toasted blends, Cut Plug Xo. 10 (IJullshcad), Navy Cut No. 3 (Bulldog), Cavendish, Riverhcad Gold, Desert Gold and Pocket Edition." "Glad to hear it!" said the doctor. "It merits its popularity. Trust 'the public to know a really good thing."
