HEAD ON COLLISION

TWO CARS INVOLVED

As the result of a head on collision between the car in which she was a passenger, and another ear, Mrs V. Appleby was yesterday admitted to the Whakatane Public Hospital. Her condition this morning was reported to be satisfactory. The accident occurred on the Ro-torua-Wliakatane main highway, at the Manawahe turn-off. The car in which Mrs Appleby was. riding was driven by her husband, Mr 1\ Appleby. In the car also, was their young baby. As they were about to turn on to the main road the second car » •> proceeding towards Manawahe, swung round the corner. As stated, Mrs Appleby was removed to the hospital whilst Mr Appleby who suffered cuts and abrasions was also treated. The baby was unhurt. Damage was received to both cars. j I
