Blowout !

Shoppers in the vicinity of the Regent Theatre were astonished and starlied on Saturday morning by a sudden report of considerable dimensions likened not unto that which proceeds from a trench mortar } which came all at ance and echoed and re-echoed throughout the vestibules of the bazaar. Curiosity at once seized the upper hand and quite a dozen persons came out of hiding to search for the origin of the said report. Sleuths quickly followed clue after clue and finally arrived at bicycle stand opposite the theatre. And there they found that which they were seeking. Propped lop-sided ly in the bike-park was a dejected looking bicycle ruefully displaying a badly bent back tyre which in turn offered to the gaze of the public a blowout the best part of three inches long. Woe is us! Woe is the bicycle! Woe is the poor owner who must once more vamp the rationing controller! Woe is the sun much- cursed as the cause! But to the unknown owner we offer these heartening words: we trust it will not. be long before a blowout every day will be permitted and cyclists as a people, may have immense, blowouts —blowouts of a proportion undreamed of in the past—with no thought or worry as to whether the permit for the wherewithal to have another will be refused!
