SMALL OUTBREAK

FIRE IN BOROUGH YARD

At approximately 7.15 p.m. on Tuesday evening a small outbreak of lire occurred in a pile of wood in the Borough Council Yards in Commerce Street. The blaze was apparently caused through a spark being carried by the high Avind Avhieh was blowing at the time from a tar tank priming fire to the pile of wood a few feet away. The siren was sounded and in a matter of minutes the Brigade Avas on the spot. It was not, hoAvever } necessary to run out a length of hose a smaller one which Avas already connected on the pre mises being found to be sufficient. The lire had barely started when it was noticed, and consequently it AA-as dealt Avith before any damage was done..
