Biscuit Shortage Although assurances were given to retailers some months ago that with the termination of manufacturers' contracts with the United Kingdom Government the biscuit supply would improve inquiries reveal that there is .still only a .small quantity and very little variety of. biscuits Ixung received in Whakatane by retailers. The monthly ration comprises chief - ly wines ancl wheatcn and no sweet biscuits are being received. Retau'rs were assured that water crackers sao crackers and cream crackers would be in abundant supply but such has not been the case.
