BOTTLE DRIVE

RAISING OF SUBSCRIPTIONS

Last November a subscription list was opened by the Whakatane School Committee to pay for the conversion of a shelter shed into a dressing shed in connection with the Learn. to-Swim Pool, and towards the cost of. providing a concrete area at the school for basketball and physical training.

The objective is £100 and to date the sum of £62 17s lOd has been donates!.

To augment the funds- a bottle drive was held last week-end and although 'the district was well combed there may stiil be many bottles which the. owners would be jileased to donate. It is requested that they telephone the school and their bottles will be collected by the pupils.

Parents who have not yet made donations are. asked to forward their subscriptions to the "Beacon" by the 31st March next.
