MIXED FEELINGS
IT was obvious from the report of the proceedings r >.'t the inaugural meeting of the 2nd N.Z.E.F. \s.soeiation, n l r'ch was called in Whakatane recently for the purpose of establishing a local branch that the proposal met with a mixed reception. The big point at issue appeared to be the query as to whether the new organisation held any advantage over the existing R.S.A. by way of improved or wider service to the ex-serviceman or woman when they re-entered civil life. Answers by the Dominion President, Mr E. L. Thwaites, aparently failed to satisfy many of those who asked them, but on the other hand it was evident that the new movement was everywhere making headway and enrolling members in increasing numbers. Whakatane will doubtless hear a good deal more of the movement in future.
