PACKING BY INTER-ZONE

COMMITTEE

At the last meeting of the Whakatane Zone Executive of the Bay of Plenty Provincial Patriotic Counwhich was held on Monday t> it was brought to the notice of the representatives' of the inter-zone committees that the current parcel pack was completed on March 2. All parcels for the 1944 packs have been received with the except tion of the Christmas pack from Ruatoki. It was suggested that the Zone might now favourably consider the setting up of a committee which would be responsible for the packing of all unaddressed gift parcels*.

The following resolution was moved: "That hereafter all unaddressed gift parcels consigned from this zone contain a card with the packer's name and address and worded as fol-' lows: "Wishing you God speed } Good Luck and Safe Return. Contents of this parcel donated by the Bay of Plenty Provincial Patriotic Whakatane Zone, Whakatane." Also that hereafter all parcels be packed by inter-zone committees; at the Central Whakatane Depot. Following are the .1945 quotas for parcels:—■ Matata 17 Manawahe 11 Thornton 19 Otakiri 20 Te Teko 26 Ruatahuna 9 Te Whaiti . 13 Edgecumbe 49 Awaken *. 35 Ngatiawa .. .. 20Taneatua 45 Ruatoki 20 Wainui 9 Borough & Ohope .. .. 94 Galatea 13 Waimana 26 Total ..426
