Complete unanimity of opin- " ion that in the national interests of the Dominion as a whole, the Government should' undertake the .completion of the Gis-bornef-Taneatu a railway link and regard it as one demanding priority in the post-war proposals for rehabilitation, was reached at the combined meeting of City and provincial Chambers of Commerce convened in Whakatane last Wednesday evening. The meeting was the mos>t representative of its kind held in and embraced delegates from Auckland, Whakatane, Te Tauranga, Te Aroha, Paeroa, Morrinsville j Matamata and Hamilton.
