WINTER SHOW ASSN.
MEETING OF EXECUTIVE
A meeting of the executive of the Bay of Plenty Winter Show Association was held in the Borough Council Chambers on Thursday even - ing when various matters were dealt with.
One of the main points, discussed was whether or not a Winter Show should be held this year. It was decided that owing to restrictions governing benzine and tyres together with the shortage of labour on farms for preparing root crops and the uncertainty of machinery exhibits it would be better to postpone holding the show until next year when it is hoped things, will be nearer to normal than they are at present. The President also intentioned that there had been a number of enquiries for the loan of trestles and tables but owing to a ruling stating that no furnishings were to be. let out of the hall these were declined. The supper room of the hall is available to the public for any function of a social nature at a very nominal charge.
