PRAISE FOR WHAKATANE
THE unstinted praise which a prominent Sydney businessman recently had for Whakatane and its environs, lends weight to the thought that in spite of all the criticism of local body members, of our poor sense of enterprise, and of our lack of civic initiative, we have at least made some progress, which a casual visitor from across the Tasman labels 'not bad.' It would behove us therefore to cease our own individual grousing and get more behind those who are seeking to push forward the interests of our town and the rich, pasturelands which surround it.
