FIRST MUSTANG FIGHTER
PRODUCTION IN AUSTRALIA The first Mustang fighters to be manufactured in Australia will be completed within a few weeks. This was announced by the retiring Minister of Aircraft Production Senator •3 G. Cameron who said also that Australian production of four-engag-ed Lancaster bombers would begin early next year. The mass production is expected soon of Rolls Royce Merlin engines for Lancasters Mustangs and Mos_ J 0 '« quitoes. Maximum production in Australia of the Mosquito ;? the world's fastest lighter-bomber will 3 5 be readied soon. The first Australian Mosquitoes are already in use by the R.A.A.F. against the Japanese. .Australia has a special technical staff in Britain studying the development of jet-propelled planes.
