ENJOYABLE WEEK SPENT

OHIWA AND LAKE ROTOMA

After spending a happy week at Ohiwa the 63 Scouts from, the Whakatane Opotiki ancl Waiotahi troops broke camp last Saturday an.dl amidst scenes ol' the greatest en-» thusiasm departed for their respective home centres. The camp though rather hurriedly: arranged was an undoubted success and was thoroughly enjoyed by th& lads all of whom were looking the picture of health as they left fow home. Apart from a few cut ffeefi and one sunburned leg the campwas almost devoid of accidents. On Friday e>\«ening a camp-fire gathering took place in which community" singing tigctred together with bagpipe solos } yarns; and the inevitable jokes. The camp committee is deeply grateful for all the assitance which, it received during the camp fromu various residents, by Way of donations and tlie loan, of gear. At Lake Rotoma, Awalceri and' Rotoiti combined to- run a troopscamp under S.iVLs T. Howell and R., Morgan. This also was a most successful venture aad one which wasthoroughly enjoyed by the twentytwo lads taking part. Interesting;, and instructive work and were the order of the and fromi what we understand there will bet many happy memories of the camp carried away by all those, who took part.
