SETTING EN WHAKATANE
COASTAL SHIPPING COMMITTEE Notification has been received to the effect that the Government Committee set up to enquire generally into the competition between the Railways and Coastal shipping, and the question of controlling such competition Avill sit in Whakatane in the County Council Chambers at 11 a.m. on February 6. Delegates, from Opotiki and Whakatane Harbour Boards and Borough interests Avill appear before the committee urging that coastwise sea transport should be encouraged and maintained*.
