"HONOURABLE DISCHARGE" SERVICE WITH WARSPITE An oflicial certificate of service t including an "honourable discharge" has been issued on behalf of a cat, which has left H.M.S. Warspite owing to shell shock and has now taken up residence with the wife and mother of a member of the crew (A.B. George Allen) at Greatfields Ro'ttd,, states an English exchange. This former member of the famous ship's company was taken to his home during short leave and immediately took to his new surroundings ashore. According to the true copy of the certificate of signed by the commander of the ship ? Captain Kelsey ? D.5.0., the cat is described as Ginger Brest, the surname having reference to service with the ship at Brest. Its Port Division is given as (.atham } and its official number :is L.X. 1914. It is* recorded as having been born in the with its nearest i its motlier_ "Scramblebag/' with an address" on H.M.S. c/o G.P.0., London. By trade the discharged cat is described as "independent/' and its religious denomination 'as "Free Thinker." Ihese special mentions, are made: June 6—D-Day and subsequent actions. By his actions proved himself an example to others.. August 25—Bombardment of Brest. Acquitted himself in a very seamanlike manner. November I—Bombardment of Walcheren Island. Shell shock by enemy action. Discharged honourably to vilian life.
