MONTHLY MEETING

The monthly meeting of the Auckland Provincial Executive of the New Zealand Farmers' Union was held in the Board Room 7 Hobson , f Street Auckland on December 20. . The following remit was. forwardted by the Bay of Plenty Sub-provin-cial Executive: "That the Proving cial Executive be asked to watch carefully the new body dealing with erosion, to see that it does-, not bring about a new rating burden." This was, agreed to. A further suggestion that one body should deal with both afforestation and erosion matters in connection. with the employment policy during the post-war period and that the necessary finance be provided from national funds, was. referred to the Dominion Executive. An Athenree remit read: "That the penalty of %d per lb butterl'at in cream grading be reduced in the case of pasture taint, as the. condition is one largely beyond the farmer's- control/' The matter was referred to the Dairy Board.
