AN OLD OFFENDER
THEFT OF GOODS
THREE MONTHS' IMPRISONMENT Charles Howard pleaded guilty in the Whakatane Court yesterday to the theft of a shaving outfit and a suitcase whilst staying in a Whakatane boarding-house over the Christmas holidays. « Sergeant Farrell who prosecuted j said that the accused was employed at a timber mill at Matahina, and that when in town he had vis-ited some Maori friends in the boardinghouse. He was an old offender and already had accumulated a Tist with 21 previous convictions. Howard was sentenced to three months' imprisonment in the Mount Eden gaol.
