WEDDING BELLS
STUART—HENRY A pretty wedding solemnised recently at the Knox Presbyterian Church, Wha'katane, was that of. Helen May Henry '(WAAC) only daughter of Mr John Henry and the late Mrs Henry of Whakatane s . and Private William Alexander Robert Stuart, elder son of Mrs G. Stuart/ of Waihi s and the late Mr W. Stuart/ of Cambridge. The ceremony was performed by the Rev. H. Hogg y and the wedding music played by Mrs Stewart. « The bride who was given in marriage by her father j wore, a long trained gown of deep magnolia duchess satin fashioned on medieval lines with a heart shaped neckline edged with tulle and caught with orange: blossom. Her exquisite tulle and lace veil formed a second train and was caught back with a cor.onet of orange blossom, and worn over her face as she entered the church. She carried a shower bouquet of Christmas lillies and pale pink roses and maiden hair fern. The bride was maided by two friends Miss Josephine Ramson, of Whakatane, and Miss Barbara Finn (WAAC) of Green Lane } Auckland. Their frocks were of dusty pink and powder blue crepe respectively and were made, on similar lines to that of the. bride's gown . They wore snoods of old lace and rosebuds in the same tonings and their shower bouquets, were of pink carnations and pink and blue sweets- peas. The best man was L.A.C. George Henry (the bride's brother of R.N.Z.A.F. and the groomsman was- Corporal' John Ramshaw j of WellingtonBoth the bridegroom and the groomsman recently returned to New Zealand after four jlars service in* Greece Lybia and Italy. The 'reception was held, at the Caledonian Hall, where the guests were received by the bride s auntj - Mrs J. Pattie, of who. was attired in a, navy costume and accessories and shoulder spray of red roses. The bridegrooms mother } who wore a navy sil'lt crepe frock trimmed with silk carried & posy of &u.tunin. toxics.
When the happy couple left on a tour of the. North Island, the bride; travelled in a clover frock, with hat and jogger coat, and accessories to tone. The high e&teem in which the bride and groom were held was evident by the number of cheques and: beautiful gifts they received.
