Missed Her Ship

When the cat ma.scot of Hie coastal steamer Waimaroin missed her passage to her four young kittens posed a prob":em for the crew. Being true the men would not think of drowning the kit-tens and some of the firemen took charge of them, feeding them ■with milk through a fountain pen filler. The kittens soon began to look forward to feeding time and thrived during the trip to Au-ekland. There is now some speculation among the crew as to whether th'; mother cat will rejoin her family at Wellington.
