NEW REGULATIONS
DRIVERS LICENSES AND W.O.Fs
Returned servicemen who are the holders of drivers licenses are referred to new regulations governing these which have ra- • cently been issued by the Commissioner of Transport. Their effect is to revoke automatically all serviceman's driver's licenses issued by the Transport Department when they are placed! on leave without pay ; i.e. are entitled to wfar civilian clothes. This ruling will take effect on and after December 1. Men wishing to renew their licenses ■should do so in the ordinary manner. A new ruling with regard to Warrants of Fitness has also ibeen gazetted. Previously a warrant was good 1 for twelye months provided that no more than 2000 miles was l done in the first six months. Now under the new the! extension for a warrant is 12 months provided that no more than 2000 miles are done * during the whole 12 months. If this distance is exceeded before the year is up } a new W.O.F. must bi? applied for. 'With regard to trailers and motor the duration of the warrant is 12 months.
