"THE POWER AND THE GLORY"
: .*». The. glory of the golden west; splendour of the eastern s'k3 r ; The light that gUsts the combers crest Exceeds all human artistry. The prompting of the feathered choir To hail the smiling Is free spontaneous minstrelsy All are musicians born Instinctively to play their part. No human instrumental art With nature's music can compare; Ancient, but. ever fresh and rare. From early morn till dewy eve The primal choristers relieve— Each other and their part perform. The insects hum the thunderstorm. The bounding billows roar and crash As o'er the foam flecked rocks they dash. The Tui's clear and fulsome call Accompanied by the waterfall, Rustling leaves and whispering spray All parts- perfectly they play. In. nature's ancient symphony On the organ of eternity; Played by the mighty master hand That formed the sea and sky and land To demonstrate, from shore to shore His power and glory evermore. H. SERGANT.
