FURTHER BALLOT TODAY
TOTAL OF 4600 YOUTHS
RELEASED THIS AFTERNOON A list of some -KJOO men called up for military service is gazetted today. Announcing this the. Hon. A. McLagan said that the majority would be youths who have reached 18 since the previous call-up in June. Under the present policy they would not became, liable for mobilisation until such lime as they attained the age of 20 but they -would have the opporunity of volunteering for immediate service in the. R.N.ZA.F. Mr McLagan said thai ample opportunity would be given these youths and their employers to lodge appeals later wherever necessary when liability for mobilisation eventuated. The gazette would indicate however a- number of men, who had reached 20 and were liable immediately 'for service. Wherever it was desired to apply for a postponement in respect of any of those men application should be lodged without delay with the appropriate Armed Forces Appeal Board. As the ballot will not be. officially released until ',i a.m. today we are unabie to publish the names till Friday.
