NEW TYPE BICYCLE IN VIEW FOR AFTER WAR

The new-British "super-bicycles, "" designed by leading England scientists and a'ircralt will be put into production immediately industry switches over to peace-time manufacture, reports the London "Daily Sketch." The new types which incorporate the latest developn|ats of British aircraft construction in their desigii are described as speedy and feather-weight..'' They weigh 15 pounds as against the 28 pounds weight of the ordinary bicycle. British post-war bicycles will be rendered thief-proof by a secret locking while the tyre pumps will be hidden in the frame of welded corrugated tubing. One type which is now ready for manufacture is made of rust-proof metals so that the machine can be cleaned simply by a hose pipe. Another novel feature is the chain-case, made of transparent plastic as used in bomber gun-turrets t which leaves the oil level visible. One prominent British scientist who has contributed to the design of these revolutionary bicycle types is Mr Sydney Camta inventor of the world-famous R.A.F. Hurricane.
