In answer to tlie County Council's recent letter regarding the allOr cation made for ragwort control for the currcnt year the Department of Agriculture lias replied stating that the £2500 allocation for the current year was intended to include the Ruatoki area, leaving the Council £2000 lor use in other areas. It was suggested that the Council carry ot witli such grant, and if it was found that £2000 was not sufficient for the other areas, further representations could be made.. It was pointed out that allocations were made on as equitable a basis as possible having consideration to the demands and the money voted for the purpose and also with a realisation ol' the sums previously grante.il, which should over the years be expected to become diminishing amounts. The Council resolved that the Native Department Ruatoki be advised of £500 grant for materials.
