Te Teko Plantation The re-planting of plantation area at nearing completion. The gang^Tat present planting the last 8000 trees of the required. It will be necessary to carry out improvements to> the boundary area. The original posts were from swamp timber erected some 18 years ago and they now require, replacing. (County Engineer's report 24/10/4.4). New Date for Plunket Concert Owing to unforseen circumstances the Whakatane Plunket Society has been unfortunately compelled to once more alter its date for the forthcoming concert to be held in the King Street Hall. The event will be held on Mond l ay j November 6th and will combine the presentation of several plays recently presented at the Drama Festival of the Women's Institute plus several items by leading local artists. Sugar (ration 31b each coupon. 12oz). —Nos. 1 to 4, inclusive, available until November 26. Tea (ration Boz. each I coupon 2oz). —Nos. 1 to 4 inclusive available until Novemlser 26. Petrol (ration half face value of coupon).—From November 1 No. 5 available until November 30. Petrol for Pleasure Craft The acting-Minister of Supply, the Hon. A. H. Nordmeyer, announced that the War Cabinet had decided on reduced petrol allocations for launches and other pleasure craft for the coming season November 1944, to April 1945 as follows: Motor boats: Water-line length up to and including 25 feet, two gallons a month; over 25 feet and including 30 feet } six gallons; over 35 feet and including 40 feet, 8 gallons; over 40 feet ? 10 gallons; sailing 3'achts with auxiliary engines and boats using outboard motors up to and including five h.p. one gallon a month; over five h.p., two gallons.
