ANNUAL FUNCTION HELD
: WELL LADEN" STALLS Well-laden stalls amply typifying the productive of the fertile Bay of Plcntj r were the main feature at tlie annual Methodist bazaar which was held in the Methodist Hall ? King Street yesterday morning and afternoon. The. hall was very colourfully decorated with greenery interlaced •with streamers and studded with flowers and the whole presenting a distinctly festive setting was a credit to the ladies who performed the task. The stalls Avere particularly well stocked with all sorts of. articles the produce stall especially almost bendi.ng under the weight of (lowers and vegetables on display. The noveltj- stall showed some line work in the way of carved and poker-worked articles while that devoted to sewv ing exhibited a number of attractive, articles- of both, a plain fancy nature. The cake and sweets stall was ? as evcr } one of the most popin the brand of toffee apples on sale finding much favour with the kiddies. The ladies on the, morning and afternoon tea and lunch tables- rendered sterling service in that capacthe tables between the hours of twelve and one being filled constantly,
The Taipei board which was run in the nature of a competition attracted allwcomers. who competed with one another in an endeavour to raise the highest score. After each successive contestant had played his shots it was generally agreed that it was mainly a matter of luck.
Ladies in charge of the various stalls were: —Plain and Fancy Sewing': Mrs Canning and Miss. Grose; iS'oveltics: Mrs Comer and Mrs Larson and Miss Ramson; Cakes: Mrs Hani tain and Teesdale: Seedlings and Produce: Mrs Berg and Miss. Boon; Tea and Lunch Stall: Mrs Daiv vi 11 ? Mrs< Klin'k, Mrs Smithy Mrs Print, Mrs Mrs Attwocul, Mrs Buckrcll, Mrs Denman and Misses Klink and Attwood; Competition: Miss Ranison; Delicatessen; Mrs Muir, Mrs Holland, Mrs, Hanrtam.
