RADIO CLUB

WHAKATANE GROUP FORMED

A fact which is pleasing to note, is the formation in Whakatane of a Radio Club; a club which includes a number of people in Whakatane who are interested in radio and wish to carry out practical experiments in the science. The club is fortunate in having as members

several qualified radio servicemen who have been kind enough to link up with it in order to instruct the younger members in both the theo-i retical and practical side, of wireless,.

Several meetings have so far been held, the last one, which took place on Wednesday evening taking the form of a very interesting discussion on the principles of radio.

It. is proposed to establish a club headquarters as soon as possible, and to extend the. practical side, of the work by means of more equip, ment to be bought from club funds.

The mcmberghip fee is within easy reach of anyone interested in wireless as a hobby. Meetings are held monthly and the club is. an individual one. Anyone interested and wishing to join should get in touch with the secretary, Mr Jack Jones or another member at the earliest opportunity. The- club is, as yet quite young, but has pros-, pects of an excellent future and it is hoped that others interested will not be slow in co-operating whenever and wherever possible.
