OBITUARY
MR H. T. LOOMES
The death occurred on the 25th of last month of Mr Herbert Thomas Loomes. of King Street, Whakatane, •who has been resident in the. Bay for some twenty years. The late Mr Loonies was born at Waimate in the South Island where lie , received his education. He commenced work as a grocer which occupation he followed in Christchurch and Timaru for a number of years. In 1924., he left the South Island and settled in the Bay of Plenty at Tauranga, later coming to Whakatane. Hor a period after his arrival in this town he represented Smith and Caughcv and late.r O - .j. was employed by the Whakatane County Council. M*- Loonies who was 63 years of age, is survived by ins widow and eight Peter, Olwyn, Noleen, George. (Wellington), Mirs Speechley (Timaru), Mrs Robinson (Timaru) Mrs- McNeil (Auckland) and Mrs Newman (T'e Puke.). The sympathy of. the community is extended to them.
