LAND SALES
BAY OF PLENTY PROPERTIES
READY MARKET FOUND
Land agents in Whakatane report a general rise in the transifer of properties in most of the agricultural areas. The condition has undoubtedly been affected by the improved war outand there is every indication that the demand will be maintained and even improved during the coming months.
Fears that the, Land Sales Com,mittee would have a paralysing effect upon the sale, or purchase of properties have been found baseless. In practically every instance the. applications before the commit* tee have, been granted with slight modifications.
A. J. Canning and Co. report that one of the largest sales effected re.cently was the purchase of acres by Mr Charles Roberts from Mr J. M. Mclntyre at £80 per acre. This property contained three houses and two cow sheds together with a good heixf and serves to illustrate the substantial nature of the deals that are. going through.
The Bay of Plenty appears to be a popular proposition for fanners from the and many enquiries are reported. It is stated with authority that within the last six no farmer has been forced by the. Land Sales Committee to take, a lower figure than quoted.
