Payment of Rates
"That the Crown be. requested to pay full rates or a proportionate monetary grant on all lands under
the jurisdiction of the Crown or State, Forest Department utilised for planting purposes and for flax growing purposes, read one motion which was carried at the conference of delegates of ten county councils, in Tauranga las<t week. The motion was moved by Mr E. G. Clark
(Thames) and seconded by Mr E. Deeble, chairman of the Coromandcl who thought the. request a reasonable one.
