The Primary Production Council have now received pamphlets setting out a description of the temporary and permanent houses and huts- which are to be made available'to the farming community for farm workers.
Various types of Army hutments are. offered; single, double and married man's temporary quarters. These may be either hired for a term or purchased. The rentals payable per quarter are: Type. A, 255; B tf £2; C, £5. The purchase price for A and b' only are £40 and £60 respectively.
There are also two standard designs of permanent houses Type D comprising two bedrooms-, living room, kitchen, laundry and room. Provision is rnade for water supply and electric installation. The cash price for this is £980. Type E is a smaller unit costing £750. Finance can be arranged under the Farmers Loan Emergency Regulations, through the State Advances Corporation.
The. erection of both the temporary and permanent accommodation will be carried out by the Housing Construction Department and it is imperative that information should be on hand at the earliest possible date so that the ne'eessary arrangements in regard to labour and material may be made immediately.
This offer will only remain open for a limited period and applications cannot be accepted after 30th November next. If accommodation is required the farmer in his own interest, make immediate application to the Primary Production Council members.
