LIEUT. COL. J. J. CONOLLY'S POST Residents of Whakatane will welcome the information thatf Lieut Col. R. J. R. Conolly„ D.5.0., the well-known and popular schoolmas-* ter of Whakatane's pre-war days, has been appointed to the position, of headmaster of the John McGlas.-. han Dunedin College i in suc-> cession to Mr R. G. C. McNab t who resigned on receiving a British Government appointment in the Middle East.
Colonel whose home is in the Paeroa spent some years before the war as a teacher in Whakatane and other State schools in the Auckland Province. He has a particularly fine record in the teaching profess.!on. He returned to the Dch minion on furlough last April. Our warmest congratulations go to himt his appointment.
