THE SPORT OF ROWING

THE annual meeting of the Whakatane Rowing Club, serves as a reminder of the splendidly successful season last year which followed the creation of the junior club, in an effort to retain the sport in the interests of the members who were away overseas. * Public interest can this year be stimulated in the same manner, by the staging of novelty events and the institution of competitions and trophy races. Rowing in this town is well on the upgrade and we have no doubt that the approaching season will be just as successful or more so than that just completed.

Radio for Patients The Whakatane Hospital Board has decided to uistal radio receiving sets in the isolation ward for the benefit of patients.
