The following extract is from th<j Scout Commissioner's report for the Bay of Plenty which was presented at the- annual conference held in Wha'katane last Saturday evening:—

"During the year seven new troops have been registered with the, result that we now have- in the Bay just over 500 Scouts and Cubs. This with non-warranted workers (committee members) makes a grand total of 670. Since our official statistics were taken there have been three additional troops, registered— Mount Oropi and Motiti Island. We welcome 1 S.M. S. J. Higgins and J. Monk of the two former troops, and we anticipate- making a trip to initiate the troop on Motiti Island. The other troops who joined up during the year were Waiohou (S. M. Judd) s , Bethlehem (S.M. Carmichael), Gate Pa (S.M. Tauranga Sea Scouts (S.M. Murdoch). We have been glad to welcome them all.
