Flunket Grant The. usual grant of £20 has been made by the Borough Council to the local branch of the Plunket. Society. W.E.A Classes The Borough Council has agreed to permit the local branch of the W.E.A. to use the Council Chambers free of cost for its periodic meetings. Only Seven Replies Jn answer to the Town Clerk's circular seeking an indication of the number of persons Avho would welcome a rubbish collection on the Strand t it was reported at "last. Monday's meeting of the Council that only seven replies had been receivedThe Mayor stated that it was obvious from the result that the council could not institute the service, on such figures. Cr Canning offered to call on those, businessmen who had not replied to the circular in an effort to find out the true position.
