MAORI APPRECIATION
MISS TWEED'S SERVICES
TE TEKO MISSION WORK
After ten years of untiring Mission work amongst the. people of Te Teko, Miss Tweed, a short time ago found it. necessary to leave owing to her mother's' failing health. Misis Tweed had been friend and helper to many. Hex presence in the district is greatly missed and her going caused t widespread regret. Her Maori friends wishing to show their appreciation of all she had done for them gave liberally. Some of the womenfolk undertook the task of cooking a "hangi" dinner to help swell the funds, and so make a more worthy presentation. A handsome handbag, a beautiful linen tablecloth and napkins and a sum of money with the suggestion that she purchase a dinner set, were forwarded to her in the hope that these gifts would convey to her something of the appreciation of lier Maori friends at Te Teko.
