At its meeting last week, the Whakatane Harbour Board considered a plan submitted by Mr McCarthy, showing areas and severances involved in the Strand extension road to King Street, together with the proposed extensions to Beach Road and Bracken Street to connect with the Board's mudflats endowment scheme roads. By way of overcoming the existing difficulties, the Board decided that all lands for roads and severances, Strand extension road to King Street and Beach and Bracken Streets extensions be acquired by action under the Public.. Works Act and the 'surveyor and board's solicitor be ad-? vised.
